Moishe Mana

Chair & Director

Moishe Mana, mostly recognized as billionaire, businessman and real estate developer, is Miami’s largest private landowner and his latest project is about Downtown’s revitalization, with over 60 properties in the area. It is less known that Moishe is great admirer of Nikola Tesla and founder of Nikola Tesla Foundation. The Nikola Tesla Innovation Hub marks Mana Common’s first project within the ambitious development of the Flagler District in Downtown Miami. “Nikola Tesla was an underappreciated genius in his lifetime,” says Moishe on the occasion of starting of renovation of Nikola Tesla building “Just like Henry Flagler, Tesla lived within the Gilded Age– a period of ingenuity and technological innovation, but also brutal competition. At Mana Common, we believe that when competition is tempered by a compassionate spirit of common good, we all benefit. Tesla is a perfect example of a man whose desire to benefit humanity outweighed his personal ambitions. This building is a tribute to that legacy.”

Remembering

Ivan Delevic

1965 – 2024

Read Ivan's short bio

Ivan Delevic was the Global Head of Strategic Marketing at Insightec, an Israeli-US global healthcare company creating the next generation of patient care by realizing the therapeutic power of acoustic energy. Prior to his last role, Ivan served on the Board of Directors at Insightec for six years. His expertise results from a wealth of global medical device industry experience, with his previous executive leadership roles at GE Healthcare, MAKO Surgical (now part of Stryker Corp.) and most recently as the CEO of OrthoSensor (now part of Stryker Corp.). Ivan was a Board Member at Pristine Surgical, DermaSensor and Radom, where he also served as the Chairman. He had an M.B.A. from the Technical University of Budapest through a joint program with Herriot-Watt University and an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Budapest. Ivan was also a certified Six Sigma Leader.

Ivan Delević, director and member of the Nikola Tesla Foundation, left us on March 22 of this year. Although we knew he was battling a serious illness, we believed he would win in the end. Why, if we knew that the disease was practically invincible? The most natural reason can be found in Ivan’s personality, his character, which, and we will not be wrong if we say, won over everyone with his openness, cordiality, sincerity and curiosity towards solving problems that people with a pure heart retain throughout their lives. When a person possesses these qualities, no one in his immediate and wider environment thinks about death, everyone hopes that it cannot happen after all.

Ivan gladly joined the work of the Foundation, selflessly offering his knowledge and skills acquired during his years of work in the global medical device industry, in places where his word and influence had a decisive role. He hoped that he would be able to leave his legacy within the Foundation, thinking about how we can best contribute to the promotion of Nikola Tesla’s rich legacy. Remembering his optimism and goodwill that he showed at every opportunity, we feel not only a duty, but also a sincere desire to continue our work, not forgetting Ivan’s enthusiasm and commitment.

On this sad occasion, the lines of Robert Frost sound so accurate and prophetic:

“Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.”
